A non-profit foundation has been established by the MRS to support programs for radiology residents in Minnesota. The purpose of these programs is to give the residents at Mayo Clinic and the University of Minnesota the opportunity to learn about and participate in the MRS and American College of Radiology. Another major goal is to promote professionalism and leadership development for our radiology professionals of tomorrow.
The project to date has sponsored the attendance of first year residents from the Mayo Clinic and University of Minnesota at the ACR’s annual meeting in Washington, DC. As a result, several of the residents have gone on to take active roles in the MRS and the Resident Fellow Section of the ACR. Generous support by numerous Minnesota radiology practices has allowed the program to be successful since 2008.
Future projects include one-week ACR fellowships in Government Relations and Quality and Safety as well as sponsorship of residents to attend the Radiology Leadership Institute.
By donating to the Foundation, individuals can make a contribution on a tax deductible basis. Funding from industry is also greatly appreciated.
